This Sunday many of us will be headed to local pubs and clubs to celebrate the FIFA women’s world cup finals and join in on all the action.

It would be the first time England has taken home a winning title in the World Cup since 1966, meaning a win would be a huge historical milestone not only for women’s football but for England.

This will also be the first world cup final the Lionesses have taken part in, adding to the significance of this achievement.

Holly Wines, head coach and Manager of Teignmouth Ladies’ club, said” ‘As Teignmouth ladies we are having a morning together.

‘We’ve got to come in England attire, I’ve ordered a cuddly lioness, we’re going to wear our shirts and face paint and experience it all as a team.

‘We did the same at the euros, watching it together just creates that atmosphere together. Hopefully, we bring it home.”’

Unity is a distinct characteristic of global, national, and local sporting events, bringing together people from all walks of life.

Many clubs, pubs, friends, and families are gathering to celebrate.

If you are planning to watch this Sunday, here are some local places showing the grand showdown at 11am; The Swan, Union Inn, Sharpy’s Sports and Music Bar, The Saracens head and The Rec Club, and The Abbot. Come with flags, face paint and some good British enthusiasm.

Send us a picture of your event and we’ll put them online. Please send your pictures to [email protected]
