NEARLY 200 cyclists took to the road on Sunday in what was said to be the biggest mass demonstration yet seen by cyclists in Teignbridge.
They rode along the main Teignmouth to Newton Abbot road to protest at the long delay of the promised Teign estuary cycle-pedestrian path.
Traffic queues built up as the cyclists pedalled slowly from Broadmeadow to the Ware Barton roundabout at Kingsteignton, and back again.
It took an hour-and-a-half, and those taking part were aged from five to 80, from cycling clubs, individuals, and families of all abilities.
Chris Connell, of Shaldon, one of the organisers, said there was disappointment and even anger, that the route could be put on the back burner, or even scrapped.
