More than 200 properties in Newton Abbot town centre lost power for about half an hour this afternoon (thurs).

A spokesman for Western Power said a power cable was damaged by a ’third party’.

cutting power to 207 shops and homes.

Power was restored by 2.58pm and town centre development manager Sally Henley tweeted praise for the power company.
