A 13-YEAR-OLD girl was rushed to hospital after falling ill at a teen party in woodland outside Bovey Tracey over the weekend.

The youngster was with a group of youths when her condition prompted a 999 call to the emergency services.

Paramedics went to Blackmoor Copse, on the National Trust’s Parke estate about a mile outside the town.

The girl, who has not been named, was taken to Torbay Hospital for treatment.

The alarm was raised just after 7pm on Saturday, just 17 hours after 15-year-old Leah Kerry collapsed from a suspected drugs reaction during a party in Newton Abbot’s Bakers Park. She died later in the same hospital.

There were suspicions drugs may also have been taken at the Bovey party, but subsequent details suggest that alcohol was the likely source of the problem.

Social media comments featured fears that some of the Bovey revellers, in their early teens, had been mixing drink with drugs.

One source has claimed the girl may have taken a substance similar to the one linked to the Bakers Park tragedy. Youths at the Bovey scene told police only alcohol was involved.

Police this morning said there was no link between the Bakers Park tragedy and the booze-only incident at Bovey.

Officers have since issued warnings about the dangers of taking legal highs, also known as New Psychoactive Substances.
