TWO fire crews rushed to a car ablaze on the A38 outside Chudleigh this morning to find the fire had already been extinguished.

The 999 call was made at 7.20am from the Plymouth-bound carriageway between the Chudleigh and Harcombe Cross junctions.

Firefighters from Bovey Tracey and Exeter checked to make sure the fire was fully out before leaving the matter in the hands of the registered keeper of the vehicle.
