AN ABUSIVE woman was removed from a train at Newton Abbot’s railway station over the weekend.

Staff alerted British Transport Police (BTP) after the passenger’s behaviour upset and disturbed other travellers.

Officers boarded the train at lunchtime on Sunday to remove the rowdy offender.

A spokesman for BTP in London said afterwards: ‘Officers were called to Newton Abbot station at 1pm on April 15 following reports of a woman being abusive.

‘Officers attended and the woman was warned about her behaviour and asked to leave the train. There were no arrests.’

One witness at the station said: ‘We wondered what was going on because there were three police cars parked up at the station. We thought something serious had happened.’
