ARSONISTS struck at a toilet block in Dawlish over the weekend.

Two fire crews - from the resort and Teignmouth - dealt with the drama at Coryton Cove on Saturday morning after thick black smoke was seen coming from the building.

The alarm was raised just after 10am on Saturday.

Firefighters in breathing gear used a chimney bucket to douse the source of the blaze – a toilet roll holder.

A spokesman said: ‘The holder was 100 per cent damaged – and the building itself was 10 per cent damaged by smoke.’

A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear smoke from the building and the targeted cubicle.
