Ashburton’s Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team assisted in the search for a missing person this morning (Saturday, February 6).

The team were mobilised at 6:50am following a request from Devon and Cornwall Police for help in finding a missing person from the Kingsteignton area.

Initial information from the police saw the team searching locations in the Bovey Tracey area and shortly after 10am a member of the public reported seeing a person matching the missing persons description in the Heathfield area.

Two team Land Rovers took team doctors and other personnel to the location where the missing person was assessed medically and handed over to South Western Ambulance Service a short time later.

In total 22 members responded to the callout and searched five locations. The team would also like thank the National Trust at Parke in Bovey Tracey who allowed them use their car park and apologise for any disruption they may have caused.
