A SPATE of burglaries in Kingskerswell has prompted police to issue a security warning to the local community.
They are urging people to make sure they lock their doors, keep valuables out of sight and be careful who they invite into their homes.
The ‘be mindful’ message follows a run of break-ins and attempted burglaries in the area since Halloween.
Officers have also advised householders not to leave keys in doors – or anywhere near them – as they can be filched through letterboxes and cat-flaps.
They are also telling people to be on their guard against cold-callers whose inquiries might attract a degree of suspicion.
Anyone wary of such approaches should always ask to see ID, police suggested.
