THREE fire engine crews put out a bedroom blaze at a home in Freers Lane, Kennford, this afternoon (Friday)

Fire control was called to a report of a fire at a domestic property and sent both fire engines from Danes Castle and one fire engine from Topsham.

A spokesperson for the Devon and Somerset fire and Rescue Service said: ‘Once the crew got in attendance the officer in charge confirmed this to be a fire within the first floor bedroom.

‘The crew got to work to extinguish the fire with the use of two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one safety jet, one thermal imaging camera and positive pressure ventilation.’

‘The fire has now been extinguished and the crew are making the area safe.’
