A MOTORCYCLIST was flown by air ambulance to hospital after a collision with a car on Newton Abbot’s Penn Inn roundabout.

The casualty, in his 40s, suffered head and back injuries in the accident late on Friday afternoon.

He was stabilised at the scene by paramedics before being ferried in the ambulance helicopter to Plymouth’s Derriford Hospital where he underwent surgery.

The collision happened at 4.20pm.
