BURNING clothes were hurled out of a first floor bedroom at a property in Teignmouth over the weekend.

The occupier took the drastic action in Woodway Close after discovering the items smouldering late on Sunday night.

Firefighters from the resort arrived just after 11pm to extinguish the blaze which damaged a two-metre length of plastic guttering and fascia board.

A bucket of water was used to extinguish the small fire, said a brigade spokesman.

He added that the cause of the blaze was accidental. No one was hurt.
