A BODY has been found by the Ashburton-based Dartmoor rescue group helping police look for a missing student from Exeter.
Rory Cattermole, 20, was last seen in the early hours of Tuesday at a nightclub in the city.
His family have been informed of the discovery at Longdown yesterday (thurs) afternoon, although no formal identification has been carried out.
Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team was called in to help with the search as fears for the missing student heightened.
A spokesman said: ‘Around 3.30pm, a team of Ashburton and Okehampton Dartmoor Rescue swift water rescue specialists discovered the body of a young man within our search area.
‘Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of the missing person have been informed.’
He added: ‘We are all deeply saddened by the outcome of this search and send our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the young man at this very difficult time.’
