THIEVES escaped with a £2,500 haul of jewellery after a break-in at Buckfastleigh.
They smashed a back door window to grab keys inside before helping themselves to the valuables and a £300 GPS cycling computer. The raid was executed between 2-6pm on November 23 at a property in Crest Hill, immediately prompting police to issue a security alert around the neighbourhood.
Officers say the burglary coincided with a run of a thefts from cars vehicles and criminal damage in the same area. They appealed to locals to be ‘extra vigilant’ and to take basic security measures to protect their property and possessions.
