A serial burglar has admitted breaking into four homes in the same street in Newton Abbot.

Anthony Bubeer, aged 38, admitted three counts of burglary and one of attempted burglary when he appeared at Exeter Crown Court.

All the raids were at houses in Chestnut Grove, Newton Abbot, and were on March 3, October 31, November 7 and November 15.

Bubeer, of Coles Lane, Kingskerswell, denied a further count of burglary at a house in Church End Road, Kingskerswell, and the prosecution will decide whether to pursue this offence.

He is likely to face a jail sentence because he is subject to the Three Strikes and You’re Out rule because of previous convictions for domestic burglaries.

Judge Erik Salomonsen adjourned his sentence until the New Year, when a probation report will be available.

Bubeer, who was then living in Packhall Lane, Brixham, was jailed for three years at Exeter Crown Court in 2012 after he admitted breaking into a bungalow in Brixham where he was confronted by the elderly resident .
