Following their very early morning call-out for a fire in a fire alarm, fire crews from Dawlish, along with colleagues from Teignmouth, responded to a report of gas in a property from ambulance paramedics who were carrying out a welfare check on a patient in Firbank Road, Dawlish.

Crews entered the property just after 1.30pm today (Sunday) with breathing apparatus and a gas monitor to check the property.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue spokeman said: ‘Gas and electric services were isolated and crews passed duty of care to the gas board on their arrival.’
