ALL three emergency services rushed to Channings Wood Prison this afternoon after a fire was reported in a cell.

Police, paramedics and four fire crews attended the Denbury jail where an inmate was checked over by medical staff.

The fire was said to be out before any of the services arrived at the scene after the 999 call went out just before 1.30pm.

The inmate involved did not require hospital treatment.

A pressure fan was used to clear smoke from the affected cell.
