A MOBILE drug dealer was caught operating from a supermarket car park in Devon, a court was told.

Police were tipped off and found Paul Rudkin in his van selling items in Sainsbury's car park at Penn Inn, Newton Abbot.

Drug paraphernalia was found in the can along with class A drugs, four mobile phones and £605 in cash.

Exeter Crown Court heard bulk messages had been sent out and 44 year old Rudkin was trying to make a significant financial gain to pay off £2,000 drugs debts.

The court heard Rudkin was trying to turn his life around and kick the drug habit and is suffering from ill health.

His barrister said the 44-year-old had been living in the van at the time.

Judge David Evans was told drugs had ravaged Rudkin's life and he had committed other offences since his arrest at Newton Abbot in 2022.

Rudkin admitted possessing cocaine and amphetamine with intent to supply and offering to supply cocaine between June and October 2022.

He was jailed for two years, suspended for two years, and fined £1,000.
