A WOMAN became trapped under a stairlift in Chagford at the weekend and had to be rescued by firefighters.

One crew from the town responded to the 999 alert in Manor Road just before 10.20pm on Sunday.

Small tools and a power saw was used to cut the casualty free before being seen to by paramedics.
