A Land Rover belonging The Donkey Sanctuary charity has been stolen from a garage forecourt in Sidmouth. 

Devon and Cornwall Police are investigating the theft of the vehicle, a 2001 Land Rover Defender 90 TD5, registration number WJ51 KZG, which was taken overnight between 5.30pm on Wednesday, May 25, and 8.30am on Thursday, May 26. It was parked on the forecourt of a Sidmouth garage, awaiting a small repair the following day.

The distinctive vehicle is green with a white hardtop roof and was used by staff at the sanctuary where it was an essential tool in helping to care for the charity’s rescued and relinquished donkeys.

Anybody that has information regarding the stolen Land Rover is urged to contact the police on 101 quoting the log number 384.
