POLICE are investigating further reports of break-ins to sheds, barns and garages, this time in the Dunsford area.

Similar incidents have happened in Lustleigh too, as reported in our print editions, and another break-in has now been reported in the village.

The latest burglaries in Dunsford took place between 11am on Wednesday, October 7, and 2.24pm on Thursday, October 8. Thieves forced entry to the buildings and hedge trimmers, chainsaws and other power tools have been taken.

Police are asking residents to make sure they review security and report any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area.

And they are warning householders to be wary of buying power tools from anyone selling them from vans.

Insp Adrian Woon said: ‘We would like to hear from anyone who sees anything suspicious or is offered any of these tools for sale.’

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers by calling 101 and quoting crime reference CR/69973/15.

A few days before, three break-ins were reported in the same night in the same road in Lustleigh.

A further incident has also now been reported, sometime between Saturday, October 3, and Thursday, October 8, when Stihl tools, including a brush cutter and strimmer, were taken.

Gardening equipment, chain saws, hedge trimmers, power tools and a petrol leaf blower were stolen overnight on Sunday, October 4, to Monday, October 5.

Officers investigating the Lustleigh incidents are also appealing for help and information: again call 101 and quote crime reference CR/069155/15.
