Christmas cards and a standard lamp were damaged in a fire at a property in Bishopsteignton just before 8pm on Tuesday.

Two fire crews from Teignmouth dealt with a small outbreak in a ground-floor lounge at an address in Newton Road.

A burning smell had been coming from the lamp and cards had caught alight.

Cause of the fire was ’accidental’.
