FIREFIGHTERS from Bovey Tracey, Ashburton, and Newton Abbot, plus an aerial ladder platform from Torquay station, attended a Christmas Eve call-out in Bovey Tracey.

Crews responded to reports of flames visible in the roof of an industrial workshop in Pottery Road just before 5.15pm.

On arrival at the scene crews confirmed to fire control that flames were issuing from the building and set about using hose reels, breathing apparatus, thermal imaging cameras, main jets and lighting in order to bring the fire under control. 

The fire is believed to have started in a woodburner before spreading through the wood and machinery within.
