A judge has set a date for the trial for the of a man who allegedly slashed two young women with a Stanley knife at a rugby club. 

Kai Webb, aged 20, of Ashleigh Park, Teignmouth, has denied two counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm at Exeter Crown Court

He has admitted possessing an offensive weapon at Teignmouth Rugby Club at Bitton Park Road on the night of May 23 this year.

Judge Geoffrey Mercer, QC, set a provisional trial date in November and adjourned the case for a further trial preparation hearing later this month. 

Webb appeared by video link from Exeter Prison and was remanded in custody.
