DEVON and Cornwall Police have announced a fresh recruitment drive for a wave of new special constables.
The force is running an online recruitment awareness event on September 28 from 6pm to 7pm.
The volunteer role involves working with police and is seen as a chance to give something back to the community.
Applicants will need to be able to give at least 16 hours of time each month and once trained and will have the same powers as a regular police officer. Successful applicants will be involved in ‘all aspects of policing’.
Devon and Cornwall Police said they are very keen to encourage applications from those who have never considered policing as a career.
Applications close at 11.55pm on Sunday, October 24.
