A WOMAN escaped with minor injuries when her car crashed into the central reservation on the A38 near Drumbridges this afternoon (Friday 16th June).

The accident just before 3pm involved a red Toyota from Lincoln and a black Mini from Cardiff.

Another female driver was not hurt, said police.

Paramedics attended the scene with police.

Just a few hours earlier four cows survived a crash involving a Land Rover towing a trailer on the same stretch of road.

The cows were transferred to another vehicle at the accident scene near the British Ceramic Tiles factory.

Police closed both north and southbound carriageways during the operation at midday. The job took just under half-an-hour.

The driver of the Land Rover was said to be shaken up by the incident, but unhurt.
