A KINGSTEIGNTON couple were hurt when their car flipped over on its side in Chudleigh early today.

A man in his late 40s and woman in her early 50s were trapped in the BMW when it overturned at Station Hill just after 6am.

They were released by Newton Abbot firefighters using hydraulic cutting gear.

All three emergency services attended the scene of the accident which did not involve any other vehicles.

The man was unconscious but breathing after suffering chest, shoulder and head injuries.

The woman had a suspected broken ankle and wrist.

Both were taken by ambulance to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital at Wonford.
