A LEAKING oil drum in Ogwell prompted a two-pump 999 response from firefighters over the weekend.

A crew from Newton Abbot teamed up with the environmental protection unit to deal with the spill in a garden in Margaret Road.

They discovered the 900-litre drum had a small leak in its side.

Firefighters fixed the breach using two ‘dammit’ mats and a leak-sealing bag.

The alarm was raised just after 5pm.
