FIREFIGHTERS were called to force entry into a flat in Newton Abbot where a man had been taken unwell.

They managed to open the door in Powderham Road to allow paramedics into the ground floor flat to treat the patient.

The alarm was raised just after 10am today.

A stationary paramedic’s vehicle at the scene was damaged after a collision involving a passing car.

No one was hurt.
