FIREFIGHTERS were called in to make a road safe after a sheet of corrugated iron was spotted in a tree above the road at Buckfastleigh yesterday (Sunday).

One appliance from Buckfastleigh went to Wallaford Road at 7.50pm after a member of the public phoned to say the roofing sheet was dangerously stuck 10 metres up in a tree. The crew used a ladder and Makita saw to remove it.
