FIREFIGHTERS were called to saw off a dangerously dangling branch from a fallen tree on the Ashburton Road in Newton Abbot.

They clambered up a short extension ladder and used a Makita saw to remove the offending hazard after the 999 call was made just before midday on Wednesday, March 30.
