FIREFIGHTERS from Buckfastleigh tackled a chimney fire in Colston Road last night (Monday).

One appliance from Buckfastleigh was sent to the fire at 6pm.

A spokesperson for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, said: ‘On arrival at the scene the crew confirmed a chimney fire at the property involving a wood burner and got to work to extinguish it.’

By 8pm they reported: ‘Chimney fire extinguished using one hose reel jet, short extension ladder, small tools, safety at height and confined space equipment, chimney gear and a thermal image camera.’
