TEIGNMOUTH RNLI lifeboat The Two Annes was launched last night after reports of a person in water.
Members of the crew liaised with Devon and Cornwall Police and asked to be on stand-by as there was someone in the water at Teignmouth.
The volunteer crew launched The Two Annes lifeboat at 2.45am and were part of a multi-agency response which included Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, South Western Ambulance Service, Coastguard Teams and a Police helicopter.
Once the person was in the care of the police, the lifeboat crew were stood down and returned to station at 4am.
