POLICE have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing incident in Chudleigh.

A 25-year-old man, from the Chudleigh area, was being questioned by officers having been arrested late on Tuesday evening.

It follows the incident on Monday night at an address in Fore Street when a 20-year-old man suffered stab wounds to his chest and arm.

Paramedics were called to the scene about 8.20pm where they treated the casualty before taking him to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth. He was released later.

Officers are appealing for witnesses. They are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time.
