A man from Newton Abbot has admitted smashing two windows while armed with a knife.

Josh Smith, aged 21, of Sandringham Road, Newton Abbot, admitted possessing a knife in Beacon Avenue, Exeter, on October 30 last year.

He also admitted damaging a window at a house in Beacon Avenue and the rear window of a car parked nearby.

He denied a further charge of using a knife to threaten to cause serious harm.

Judge David Evans adjourned the case to allow the prosecution time to decide whether to accept the pleas.

He said Smith accepts using threats to put someone in hospital and ’sort them out’ but does not say these amounted to a threat to cause serious harm.
