A man has died after being struck by a van as he changed his car’s tyre on a hard shoulder of the A30 on the outskirts of Exeter yesterday.
Police and paramedics were called at 12.25pm after Renault collided with the man, thought to be in his 50s and from the Crewkerne area.
He was pronounced dead at the scene on the eastbound slip road carriageway
at Alphington junction.
A 32-year-old man from Exeter, arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, has since been released under investigation.
A police spokesman said: ‘A full investigation of the scene was completed and inquiries are continuing to determine the cause of the collision.’
