A MAN suffered a stab wound to the stomach after a late-night disturbance in Teignmouth town centre.
Police and paramedics were called to Regent Street - just after midnight on Sunday - where the 33-year-old victim had been attacked.
He was taken conscious and breathing to Torbay Hospital’s accident and emergency department by ambulance.
It’s understood he suffered a puncture wound to the stomach area by a knife.
Violence erupted after the casualty, from Teignmouth, had been involved in an altercation with three males.
A police spokesman confirmed today that a 23-year-old man from Newton Abbot had been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
He was further detained for alleged possession of cocaine with intent to supply.
The man was quizzed by police over the weekend and later released on police bail until October 11.
