A FIRE appliance team from Newton Abbot joined another from Exmouth along with the Specialist Rescue Team from Exmouth and the Environmental Protection Unit from Newton Abbot were mobilised to rescue a man stuck in mud in Lympstone.

Crews used mud rescue equipment and successfully released the man from danger yesterday afternoon (New Year’s Eve).

The coastguard were also made aware of this incident.
