RUSH-HOUR traffic was delayed by three-and-a-half hours today after a road smash on the outskirts of Newton Abbot.
One casualty was taken by ambulance to Torbay Hospital after the two-car collision between the Teigngrace and Highweek turn-offs on the A382 near Forches Cross just after 6am.
A police spokesman said the accident victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.
Both vehicles were recovered from the scene while the the road was cleared of debris.
It was re-opened at 9.40am.
One witness of the aftermath said: ‘I saw everyone was out of their cars. The crash happened on a bend. It was hammering down with rain at the time.
‘I turned in the road and got into Newton Abbot via Highweek.’
