TWO fire appliances from Newton Abbot responded to multiple calls of a vehicle on fire on the A380 yesterday evening (Saturday).
On arrival at the scene just after 7.15pm in the North Mamhead/Great Haldon area, the incident commander confirmed to fire control that one vehicle located on the carriageway was well alight.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘Crews promptly got to work with two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
‘The incident was believed to be accidental and was handed over to police when the crews returned to home station.’
