A TAXI driver was rushed to hospital after falling ill at the wheel of his cab in Newton Abbot.
He had just dropped off a fare in the Linden Terrace area of the town when it is thought he suffered a fit.
His fare waiting, to be picked up in the locality, gave first aid while an ambulance was called at 2.35am on Sunday.
An ambulance spokesman confirmed that a patient was taken by paramedics to Torbay Hospital after suffering a medical emergency.
