A POLICE helicopter crew was drafted in to probe an attempted break-in at a property in Newton Abbot this afternoon.

The force aircraft buzzed the area above Hewett Close on the Milber estate where a man was seen acting suspiciously.

A police spokesman said the incident involved an attempt to break into a property.

A garden shed had been broken into, he added.

The alarm was raised at 1pm.

A search of the area, involving three police crews, drew a blank.

The man sought is said to be a white male with a shaved head. He is about 5ft 10ins tall.
