A SCHOOLGIRL was taken to hospital after being in collision with a car in Newton Abbot’s East Street today (Thursday).

The youngster was on her way to school when the accident happened just after 8.35am.

A police spokesman said the pupil suffered minor injuries.

She was taken by ambulance Torbay Hospital for a check-up.
