POLICE are hunting a thief suspect after a purse was snatched from a bank in Newton Abbot town centre.
Officers are anxious to trace a man in his 40s who struck at the bank in Courtenay Street last Thursday, June 28.
The incident happened just after midday.
A police spokesman said the man sought sported a tattoo on the inner side of his forearm.
He was wearing sunglasses at the time as well as a cap, a jumper around his shoulders, a sky-blue coloured top and light coloured shorts.
The spokesman said: ‘If anyone sees a male of this description, or finds a discarded purse, they should ring 999, quoting log 419 of June 28.’
