A judge has authorised the continued detention of a man who is accused of raping a woman in Honiton.
Judge Michael Cullum extended the six month custody time limit on Scott Wilson so he will remain in prison on remand pending his trial at Exeter Crown Court in November.
By law, any detention without trial beyond six months has to be approved by a judge, who must check there have been no unnecessary delays by the prosecution.
Wilson, aged 25, of Honeymead Road, Kingsteignton, is accused of raping a woman in March 2016 in Honiton.
Judge Cullum adjourned the case for a trial on November 2 and remanded Wilson in custody.
