STAFF and patients were evacuated after a fire scare at Bovey Tracey’s Riverside Surgery this morning.

Three fire crews rushed to the scene in Le Molay Littry Way just after 9.30am after a burning smell was detected.

They traced the source to an electrical installation in a cupboard which had started to give off smoke.

Firefighters from Ashburton, Bovey Tracey and Newton Abbot are dealing with the incident using thermal imaging equipment.
