Niall Grant, aged 19, is alleged to have driven at the victims in a Peugeot 106 and caused serious injury to one man and less serious harm to two others.
The charges arise out of an alleged incident in The Avenue, Newton Abbot on August 24 last year in which Wajeeh Izharuddin suffered serious injuries.
Grant, of Oakland Road, Newton Abbot, has denied one count of causing grievous bodily harm, two of causing actual bodily harm, and failing to stop or report an accident.
The trial was due to take place this week but was put back to a new date in August by Judge Francis Gilbert, QC at Exeter Crown Court.
Grant was not present at the short hearing and will remain on bail until his trial.
