TWO doormen were injured - one badly - after a disturbance at a Newton Abbot pub over weekend.
Police and paramedics were called to the Market Gate pub in Market Street in the early hours of Saturday. One of the casualties, in his 20s, suffered a broken jaw in the bust-up while his 44-year-old colleague had a bite mark to his cheek.
Both men were taken by ambulance for treatment at Torbay Hospital. A police spokesman said the incident - just after midnight - related to an ejection from the pub.
A 23-year-old man from Newton Abbot was subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm to one and actual bodily harm to another.
He was later released on bail until May 11, pending further inquiries.
