A YOUNG woman was hurt in a two-vehicle collision in Newton Abbot during yesterday’s (Thursday, December 8) evening rush-hour.

The 26-year-old casualty, in a Seat Ibiza from Buckfastleigh, suffered a minor back injury in the accident which happened on the Ashburton Road near its junction with Chercombe Valley Road. She was treated at the scene by paramedics.

The accident, which also involved a TV aerial company van, happened just before 6pm. The affected carriageway was reported to be clear 45 minutes later. Firefighters were alerted, but stood down when their services were not required.
