SCENES-OF-CRIME officers were called to Buckfastleigh today after an overnight break-in at the town’s steam railway station.

Offenders smashed their way into the stationmaster’s office and billing office and another office some time after 7pm last night.

The damage, reckoned to run into hundreds of pounds, was discovered at 8am today.

The buffet car (pictured) was also targeted after a window was smashed.

A police spokesman confirmed officers were at the location today trying to establish if anything had been stolen from the site.

The station has been a regular target for vandals and thieves over the years.

Anyone with information about the latest attack should ring police on 101, quoting crime CR/004646/17.
